When the sun rises, it is no longer the sun: A guide to the dangers of wearing face coverings

An Egyptian blogger has taken to Twitter to warn women against covering their faces during the sun rise.

The latest edition of the blog Al Jazeera English’s Egyptian edition, titled ‘The Sun is Not On Us’, features a series of articles highlighting the dangers posed by the wearing of face coverups in Egypt.

The articles highlight the lack of proper guidance for women to protect themselves against the dangers the sun pose to their health and wellbeing.

Some of the articles feature images of men, including those who cover their faces with masks, wearing face covers.

The first article reads: The Sun is not on us, and this is what we have to deal with.

It is time for us to wake up, and to stop thinking about it and not take the risks it brings.

The next article highlights the danger posed by covering the face during the rising of the sun, and points to the risk of skin cancer.

The article also points to an online campaign by the Egyptian Ministry of Health to promote proper hygiene practices to prevent the spread of skin cancers.
